NCTA, ICCROM holds cultural workshop

The UAE is preparing supervisors for a cultural experience of its soon to be listed World heritage sites.
The National Council of Tourism & Antiquities (NCTA) cooperation with ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, created by UNESCO) will hold a workshop which aims to shed light on cultural and natural sites in the UAE scheduled to be included in the list of World Heritage of the UNESCO.
Director General of the National Council of Tourism and Antiquities Mohammed Khamis Al Muhairi affirmed importance of the workshop, to be organized under the chairmanship of Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, minister of culture, youth and community development. The objective is to train supervisors on the preliminary list of cultural and natural sites files in the UAE.
Al Muhairi said the Council continues its efforts in this regard since UAE has obtained the approval to register six sites in the country in UNESCO World Heritage List.
