A Cebu Pacific passenger plane had to abort its landing as a driving lesson taking place on the runway. According to a report in The Age, the son of a top Filipino aviation official was giving his girlfriend a driving lesson on the runway at Legaspi airport, southeast of Manila, when the plane carrying 80 passengers came into land.
Frisco Santo Domingo, the Chief of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, has reportedly been suspended while an official enquiry takes place, the report said. Rather unfortunately for Santo Domingo, one of the passengers on board the flight was Philippines Tourism Secretary, Joseph Durano.
