The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents (NATTA) Regional Association, Pokhara have jointly organised NATTA Promotion Tour-2013 in Western India.

Events are being held in Mumbai (2 August) and Goa on 5th August respectively with the aim of increasing awareness and educating the West Indian travellers on Nepal’s tourism product and offerings.

The Nepalese travel trade delegation in the road show comprises of 35 hoteliers and tour operators from the city of Pokhara to woo the West Indian travellers to visit Pokhara in the upcoming tourist holiday season.

According to Nandini Lahe-Thapa, senior director of tourism marketing & promotion at Nepal Tourism Board, “India is the most significant market for the Nepalese tourism industry with approximately 1/3rd total market share. The Indian market is important for both in terms of value and volume. In 2012, Nepal received 164,680 tourists from India by air which is 13.3% increase as compared to 2011.”
