Nepal Tourism Board plans to tap the East India market by organising three-city road shows. The road show will target tourism potential from cities like Guwahati, Kolkata and Bhubaneshwar and will educate the trade about Nepal’s tourism offerings. “Nepal currently attracts a majority of the Indian travellers for Religious tourism. We are looking at promoting our adventure tourism offerings with a special focus on the Himalayas and adventurous activities like bungee jumping, paragliding and others,” Rameswar Paudel, Counsel General of Nepal told The Hindu Business Line.
Nepal received more than 1.45 lakh tourists from India by air last year. The country is targeting a 35% growth from the Indian market this year.
