KARIN SHEPPARD has been appointed chief operating officer for Australasia, Japan, Korea & Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) Franchising for IHG Group. In her new role, Karin will oversee the operations and performance of over 100 hotels in more than 10 countries across brands. She will also be responsible for the regional operations teams based in Sydney and Tokyo, as well as the AMEA Franchise Operations team.
ADELINE NG has been appointed vice president of strategy for Asia, Middle East & Africa (AMEA) at IHG. As head of strategy, Adeline will lead the strategic agenda for IHG in AMEA by evaluating market dynamics and identifying emerging growth opportunities. She will also lead key business planning processes and support the tracking of IHG’s performance against growth targets.
SLIM ZAIANE has been appointed resident manager for Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates. In February 2013, Slim moved to Dubai to work at Al Bustan Rotana Dubai as the executive manager, reporting to the area general manager.
AMJAD YOUSEF AL GHANDOOR has been appointed executive chef at Rosewood Corniche. He brings with him over 15 years’ international culinary experience, having worked with hotel chains across the world. Prior to joining Rosewood Corniche, he held a three year position as executive chef at the acclaimed Shaza Al Madinah Hotel in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
NICK BARTON has been appointed chief commercial officer for AMEA at IHG Hotels. His career with IHG spans nearly 10 years. He was previously based in the company’s headquarters in Denham, overseeing marketing and communications team for the Europe region before moving to Shanghai, China for five years. He has relocated to Singapore to lead the group’s sales and marketing functions in the region.
LINCOLN BARRETT, formerly vice president of distribution & relationship marketing for IHG’s Greater China region, has moved to Bangkok to take on the role of vice president, commercial for AMEA. In his new role, he is accountable for driving overall revenue of the company’s managed hotels across the region through the company’s system, tools and processes.
LAYNE NGUYEN has been appointed general manager for Nobu at Four Seasons Hotel Doha. In his new role, Layne will be responsible for overseeing operations of the restaurant, which includes a 192-seat interior dining area, two private dining rooms, multiple lounges, and catering operations.
KALPESH TANA has joined FRHI Hotels & Resorts as vice president, general counsel, Middle East, Africa and India. Tana brings with him close to 20 years of legal experience and joins FRHI from his most recent position as partner of head of retail, hotels and leisure with the international law firm, Osborne Clarke.
