A new Chinese airline has taken delivery of its first aircraft and plans to launch flights before the end of the year.
Colorful Guizhou Airlines’ first Embraer E190 regional jet touched down at Guiyang’s Longdongbao International Airport on 7 December, following a delivery flight from the Brazilian planemaker’s factory near Sao Paulo.
The carrier has already secured approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to launch flights by the end of December 2015.
Colorful Guizhou Airlines placed a firm order for seven E190s, with options for a further 10, at this year’s Paris Air Show. It will use the aircraft to operate routes within Guizhou and to neighbouring provinces.
