A new ecotourism company has been set up that promises to offer a series of socially responsible tours in rural Cambodia.
Siem Reap Ride was founded by Ouk Chan Bophay, formerly a manager with one of Cambodia’s leading tour operators, who said that he wants to provide visitors with a “more authentic travel experience”, involving meeting local people, exploring communities and village life and learning about Cambodia’s culture and history.
“Siem Reap Ride is an ecotourism company that supports the local community and our aim is to improve people’s lives, restore and support communities and raise living standards and education,” Bophay explained.
The company offers tours of Cambodia’s countryside by bicycle, ox cart and traditional Khmer tractor, plus homestays and farming tours that allow visitors to meet and interact with villagers.
