The InterContinental Hong Kong has unveiled a new look for its lobby and lobby lounge.
The new entrance space includes wrap-around windows that offer views across Victoria Harbour, while the horizontal wave and vertical lines of the design were intended to reflect the harbour and high-rise Hong Kong skyline.
“Since our lobby is the heart of the hotel and where our guests have their first impression of Hong Kong,” said the hotel’s Managing Director, Jean-Jacques Reibel. “We want our guests to have a unique sense of arrival.”
The centerpiece of the revamped lobby lounge is a large art piece, which doubles as a communal bar table. Weighing approximately 2,000kg, the table is designed to look like it’s floating – in keeping with the harbour-inspired theme.
