Plans have been unveiled for a new luxury boutique eco-resort, located near the Sri Lankan city of Galle.
Opening in summer 2015, Tri is being marketed as “Sri Lanka’s first truly contemporary, sustainable luxury design hotel”. Set on an island in Lake Koggala, the hotel offers just 10 suites, three of which feature private pools. And two of the units are set on the top deck of a water tower, providing 360⁰ views of the surrounding area.
Tri is being built entirely from locally-sourced materials and recycled wood, and the design will feature living walls, green roofs and solar power.
Facilities at the property will include a beach club and restaurant on Kabalana Beach, a library, study and entertainment room, plus a spectacular cantilevered swimming pool with multiple decks and terraces.
There is also a tree-top yoga retreat including treatment rooms and a “steam cavern”. Guests at the hotel will be offered a series of cultural and educational tours and activities, including temple visits and whale watching tours.
Accessible by boat across Lake Koggala, guests are also offered the option of a sea-plane transfer service lands that directly on the water.
