The opening of the new Peppers Coral Coast Resort in Airlie Beach has surpassed all expectations with tremendous business success in rooms sold as well as food and beverage.
Mantra Group executive general manager Mark Hodge said that only after two months of solid operation, the resort has been performing brilliantly with room sales being around 50% up on initial expectations.
“Peppers Coral Coast is clearly filling the void for a true five-star brand resort in Airlie Beach. This property continues to buck national trends in terms of business demand and performance,” said Mr Hodge.
“In our experience, it generally takes around six months for demand to be triggered, so we are delighted with the property’s initial results.”
He said the resort was on track to achieve more than 80 percent of its 12 month budget in the first six months of operation.
He said he is also encouraged by the positive feedback received from Tides Restaurant.
“The restaurant’s better than expected financial performance can attributed to the higher occupancy levels, but it is also due to the confidence shown from locals whose patronage continues to increase and who have praised on the food and service.”
In the two months since opening, Peppers Coral Coast has booked a number of conferences and is expected to emerge as the Whitsunday mainland’s leading wedding venue.
