New Pune airport cleared for take-off

The state government of Maharashtra has given its approval for the development of an international airport at Chakan, near Pune, The Times of India reported. The state cabinet reportedly gave the green light for an investment of INR2 billion (US$40 million) for the project.
The project will be undertaken by the Maharashtra Airport Development Corporation.
