A new attraction will open in Macau next year, which is being billed as Asia’s first ‘live action role-play ‘ theme park.
Covering more than 9,000m² at the Sands Cotai Central resort complex, Planet J will offer a series of fantasy role-play games.
Each player is accompanied by a ‘magic book’ – a personalised mobile device that connects with more than 200 games. Guests will then have to move through a series of themed zones, completing challenges that test their “wits, stamina and speedy reactions”.
The design team behind the park has also work on Universal Studios and Disneyland attractions.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be presenting Planet J to the world,” said Damon Chan, chairman of Jumpin Gym Digital Entertainment, which developed the concept.
“Planet J is a truly new revolutionary model-breaking out from entertainment offered by conventional theme parks. We have the vision for Planet J to become a leading global chain of interactive themed destinations. I am sure that you would agree that it is an extraordinary fun and innovative experience beyond anyone’s imagination.”
Planet J has been developed over a period of eight years at a cost of MOP1 billion (US$124 million). It is due to open in summer 2015.
