VisitEngland has signed a three-year partnership National Parks England to promote tourism in the countryside.
The deal will see the two work together to promote the parks to local areas and also further afield plus work on research programmes. Tourism is thought to be worth GBP4.1 billion-GBP6.3bn to rural communities.
“England’s National Parks are known for being superb landscapes, rich in heritage and wildlife, but they are also valuable generators of wealth and economic activity. The Love Your National Parks celebration is a great opportunity to highlight how we can protect the environment, support the economy; and people have fun into the bargain,” said John Dyke, chair of National Parks England and Exmoor National Park Authority.
The two will also share knowledge of sustainable growth with the industry.
