Luxury cruise company Seabourn has announced that its newest ship, Seabourn Encore, will make its official global debut in the Asia Pacific region.

The 40,350-tonne ship will be named in a ceremony in Singapore on 7 January 2017, before embarking on its official inaugural voyage, a 10-day cruise to Bali.

It will then make a 16-day journey from Bali to Sydney on 17 January 2017, calling at Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, Hamilton Island and the Sunshine Coast port of Mooloolaba.

From Sydney, Seabourn Encore will embark on a 16-day cruise to Auckland on 2 February 2017, including the ship’s first call in Melbourne on 5 February. The return 16-day cruise from Auckland to Sydney will depart on 18 February 2017, sailing via Geelong.

Seabourn Encore will then depart Sydney on 6 March 2017, cruising back to Singapore before heading to Europe for its inaugural northern summer season.

“We’re excited to offer a diverse range of itineraries for the maiden season of Seabourn Encore and provide our guests with the opportunity to visit some of the most charming and sought-after destinations in Asia, Australia and New Zealand,” said Seabourn’s president, Richard Meadows.

“Seabourn Encore will set a new standard of ultra-luxury cruising that can only be found on Seabourn, and we can’t wait to share her with our guests.”

Following the ship’s delivery in December 2016, Seabourn Encore will offer two “pre-inaugural cruises” including a 16-day voyage from Athens to Dubai, and an 18-day voyage from Dubai to Singapore.

The latest addition to Seabourn’s Odyssey-class, Seabourn Encore will carry just 604 passengers based on double occupancy, and every suite will feature a private veranda.

Another new Odyssey-class ship, Seabourn Ovation, will join the fleet in 2018.
