Open-top bus and city cruise itineraries were launched in Leeds today by Welcome to Yorkshire. Knights from the Royal Armouries joined the tourism agency to open the Leeds City Sightseeing ‘hop on hop off’ service, which takes in a five mile route through Leeds. Sites on the journey include the Millennium Square, Corn Exchange and the Victoria Quarter. Leeds City Cruises will take visitors along Leeds’ waterways in a historical route from Clarence Dock to Brewery Wharf and Granary Wharf. “This is a great opportunity for Leeds to showcase our visitor attractions and highlight the fascinating history of the city. It will also allow visitors easier access to these attractions around the city centre,” explained Welcome to Yorkshire Chief Executive Gary Verity. Buses will run six times a day from 22 May to 26 September and the Leeds City Cruises will run every weekend in the same period. Cruises will also operate every day throughout August.
