Newmarket Holidays has switched its Kent flights away from Manston as uncertainty around the airport remains.
The tour operator has been running charters from Manston Airport for several years but has announced it will move the departures to Lydd Airport this summer.
Uncertainty remains around the future of Manston Airport, with KLM pulling flights recently, while Lydd has received the go-ahead for a multi-million pound upgrade.
“We have enjoyed a very happy and successful relationship with Manston International over many years, and will be sad to see the airfield close. However, we are excited to be beginning a new chapter at Lydd, which will mean Kent passengers can still begin and end their holidays at a local airport, which is what they enjoy doing,” said Amanda George, regional charter manager at Newmarket.
The tour operator offers holidays to Verona and Naples from Kent and has offered free parking to customers already booked on the trips as a ‘recognition of inconvenience’.
