North Asia leaders meet to tackle credit crunch

The leaders of China, Japan and South Korea met in Fukuoka this weekend to discuss ways of tackling the global financial crisis, the Shanghai Daily has reported. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, agreed to establish a tripartite alliance to minimise the affects of the crisis.
“It is important to enhance regional cooperation to tackle ongoing financial turmoil,” Wen Jiabao, was reported as saying in a joint statement after their meeting.
