New York’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organisation – NYC & Company will lead a tourism delegation to
Mumbai and New Delhi from 23-27 September 2013.
The tourism board will highlight New York City’s five boroughs – Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island. Four NYC member companies, Broadway Collection, Empire State Building, Madame Tussauds and New York Water Taxi will be a part of the delegation, to conduct one-on-one meetings and workshops.
“New York City welcomed an estimated 215,000 visitors from India in 2012, reflecting a growth of 5% since the previous year and 2013 is shaping up to be another excellent year. The City has a 29% market share of all India travel to the US, the highest in the nation,” shared Fred Dixon, executive vice president for market development at NYC & Company.
“India is a huge potential market for New York City and we want to educate the trade on our new initiatives such as Neighborhood x Neighborhood Campaign to encourage tourism outside traditional tourist locations across the five boroughs,” said Beate Mauder-Kakkar, general manager for NYC& Company in India.
