OAG reveals world’s top 10 busiest air routes

OAG has revealed the Air Service Top 10 - a list of the busiest routes in the world in terms of daily flights. Asia Pacific is well represented, with five of the top 10 routes being located in the region, including the top entry: the domestic South Korean run between Seoul Gimpo International Airport and Jeju International Airport. This 452km route is served by a staggering 159 daily flights from five different airlines. Japan is the only country in the top 10 to be served twice, while Australia and India both have one entry.
The full top 10 list is as follows:
1. Seoul Gimpo International Airport (GMP) – Jeju International Airport (CJU), South Korea – 159 daily flights/5 airlines.
2. Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont Airport (SDU) – Sao Paulo Congonhas Airport (CGH), Brazil – 125/3.
3. Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) – Sapporo New Chitose Airport (CTS), Japan - 119/4.
4. Monte Carlo International Heliport, Monaco (MCM) – Nice C
