Olympic City Group considers Russian Cultural Complex in UAE

The Moscow-based Olympic City Group announced its intent to set up the first-ever Russian Cultural Complex in the UAE. To this effect, the Group has embarked on a study. The Russian Cultural Complex will include Opera and Ballet Theater, museum, hotel, apart hotel, and apartments.
The announcement was made during the second meeting held by the Russian Company with the UAE Ibiza Company in Dubai during which the details of the proposed cultural project was discussed.
Revealing more details, Aleksey Semenyachenko, Olympic City Group chairman, said: “The idea of setting up the Russian Cultural Complex in the UAE is in line with our keenness to develop the relations between the UAE and Russia, especially after these relations witnessed a remarkable development over the past few years, specifically in economic and cultural fields. We seek to develop the relation between both nations and people and strive to introduce the Russian ballet, arts and culture to the UAE people and expatriate residents through ballet dance performances and Russian art shows.”
He further added “We expect that the Russian Cultural Complex project would receive a good response not only from within the UAE, but also from the whole region in general. The Russian Cultural Complex will house a grand theatre, equipped with latest technology, to host various ballet performances and shows.”
Mohammed Al Bloushi, Ibiza director general, said: “Work is underway on the details of the project, which will mark a new start of the art of ballet in the Middle East, noting that the location of the Russian Cultural Complex has not been decided yet, adding it will be either in Abu Dhabi or Dubai.”
There are many proposed sites that are currently being studied and the details of the project’s location will be announced soon, he added.
