Oman Air apologises for ‘Persian Gulf’ blunder

Oman Air has apologised for in-flight maps that labelled the Gulf – the waterway separating Iran from the Arabian Peninsula – as the ‘Persian Gulf’.
Other Gulf carriers refer to this body of water as the ‘Arabian Gulf’ given the regional rivalry between the GCC and Iran.
For decades, Arab countries have fought to called the Gulf theirs, while Iran believes it is well and truly Persian.
