London, 15th March 2010: Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has announced that customers can now check in for their flights using the internet. The interactive online check-in facility is available for travellers departing from the majority of Oman Air’s international destinations, including London Heathrow.
The announcement is the latest step in the transformation of the airline, which has also seen the introduction of new aircraft, luxurious new seating in First, Business and Economy Classes, state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment, new menus and new uniforms. In addition, Oman Air has just become the first airline in the world to offer mobile phone and wi-fi connectivity onboard its Airbus A330 fleet.
Abdullah Zantout, Oman Air’s Country Manager, UK and Ireland, says:
“Our new online check-in facility now makes flying with Oman Air even easier. It is designed to offer each customer greater convenience and a stress-free check-in experience.
“Technology plays an ever-increasing role in all our lives and we are delighted to be harnessing it to the benefit of all our customers.
“Recently, we have introduced new in-flight entertainment systems that include audio video on demand and live satellite TV, as well as mobile phone and wi-fi connectivity that allows our customers to make calls, check email, search the web or update their social media accounts. Now, with our new facility, customers can check in online and print off their boarding pass, whenever suits them best, by visiting our website at www.omanair.com. All they then have to do on arrival at the airport is to go to the Oman Air Web Check-in counter, inform the staff of their arrival and drop their baggage before heading straight for Departures.”
Online check-in is available between 24 hours and three hours before departure, with airport check-in desks closing one hour before departure.
The introduction of online check-in comes at a time when Oman Air’s passenger numbers from the UK continue to increase as a result of reliable daily services to Oman, excellent new aircraft and some of the most competitive prices available anywhere.
