Oman Air will fly to four more destinations in Europe and Asia this year, the company announced on Sunday. As previously reported in TDA, 2009 will see the launch of new routes connecting Muscat with Paris, Frankfurt, Male, and Colombo.
“August marks the commencement of our wide-body fleet acquisition plan when we take delivery of the first of seven brand new Airbus A330 aircraft,” Oman Air’s CEO, Peter Hill, said.
“We will operate non-stop flights from our base in Muscat to Frankfurt and Paris in the west and to Colombo and Male (in the east),” Hill added.
Six-weekly Muscat-Frankfurt services will be launched on 17 September, with the four-times-a-week Paris (Charles de Gaulle) flights commencing on 11 October. A day later on 12 October, Oman Air will start four-times weekly services to the Maldivian capital, Male, and Colombo, Sri Lanka.
“With the introduction of these services, we will be providing a massive increase in capacity from Europe to Oman, designed to boost the country’s rapidly growing appeal to the discerning traveller,” Hill said.
