Oman to get new mega indoor water theme park

The FBF Group of Companies recently inked an agreement with Arab Malaysia Development Company LLC (AMDC) for the development of RO 40 million mega water theme park in Oman, as reported by Oman Daily Observer.
The agreement was entered into by His Highness Sayyid Fatik bin Fahar al Said, chairman, FBF Group of Companies and Ahmed Mohammed Al Jabri, partner, Amusement Cities LLC in the presence of Syed Asad Ali, managing partner, AMDC; Dato’ Sayed Tajul Arif, partner, AMDC LLC; Dato’ Rustam Yahya, ambassador of Malaysia to the Sultanate; and K K Ahsan Wagan, head of chancery, Embassy of Pakistan in Muscat.
Titled ‘Majarat Oman’, the Park aims to cater to families with a diverse range of fun-filled activities and will have four zones such as Alien Colony, Fuzzie’s World, Space Station and Neptune Water Park. The new water park will be located at Al Sawadi, halfway between Muscat and Sohar, will aim to cater to both local residents and visitors.
“Upon completion, the Park will be able to provide more than 300 permanent job opportunities for Omanis and more part time jobs for the local community and tremendous SME opportunities for Omanis within the local community,” said Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jabri.
Majarat Oman is the first undertaking by the company in Oman, which shall be developed by Amusement Cities, a SPV formed by Arab Malaysia Development Company LLC. Majarat Oman construction is aiming at a planned soft opening during the first quarter of 2016, according to its promoters.
