One-Two-Go ponders where to go

Thai budget carrier, One-Two-Go,said it was suspending its operations for
eight weeks to allow time for financial restructuring.
A statement from the airline said itwould stop services from tomorrow (22 July) until 15 September due to theimpact of high fuel prices, competition and poor business outlook.
“One-Two-Go has been affectedby fierce price competition, other
surcharges and continued high fuel prices and local political turmoil,”
the company said.
“The airline must be prudentand map out a new strategy
focusing on its customers.”
A Bangkok Post reports saidOne-Two-Go, which started flying in December 2003, is the first no-frillscarrier to suspend operations, while the other two operators, Thai AirAsia andNok Airlines, were also experiencing difficulties.
Last week, One-Two-Go Founder andChairman Udom Tantiprasongchai, had told the Post that the suspension was partof what he had termed “damage control”.
