oneworld has added a third fare for travel in Japan, focusing on the island of Kyushu.
The airline alliance serves seven destinations on the island – Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Kitakyushu, Kumamoto, Miyazaki and Oita – mainly through Japan Airlines.
When bought in conjunction with an international return flight to Japan on any oneworld member airline, the new ‘Visit Japan Kyushu Pass’ provides passengers with up to five flights between Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita or Osaka Itami airports and any of the seven Kyushu airports.
Each sector is charged at a JPY5,400 (approx. US$52) – half the price charged by oneworld’s established ‘Visit Japan’ fare, which offers flights throughout the country.
This Visit Japan Kyushu fare is available for travel until 29 October 2016, and is aimed at stimulating travel to the region following the earthquake that struck Kyushu earlier this year. Tickets can be bought from any oneworld member airline or most travel agents.
