Operators can’t charge airport development fee: Surpreme Court

The Indian Supreme Court has ruled that private operators cannot charge the airport development fee they now impose at the New Delhi and Mumbai airports.The Times of India reported that with the ruling, air tickets are likely to become cheaper by INR 200 for domestic travellers and INR1,300 for international passengers boarding from New Delhi. Similarly, tickets from the Mumbai airport are also likely to become cheaper with varying rates.
