Four Seasons Resort & Residences Vail’s Grinch-Inspired Walk-in Gingerbread House
- Every year, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail, hosts “WhoVail,” inspired by Doctor Seuss’ The Grinch Before Christmas, which features a life-size, Dr. Seuss’s Whoville-inspired gingerbread house (100-square feet). The outside has more than 4,500 gingerbread tiles, weighing 475 pounds, along with 80 pounds of fondant and icing. The gingerbread tiles are typically decorated by 100 children from Red Sandstone Elementary School. There’s a fireplace inside also decorated by local school children.
- Every year, during the unveiling, there is a Grinch on hand to welcome kids and guests.
Viceroy Snowmass’ Meticulously Detailed Gingerbread House
- It has edible wallpaper and will be fully decorated, even with highly-detailed paintings on the walls. Below is an image of one of the dining room walls. All the rooms will be lit and have various Christmas decorations throughout.
- This gingerbread house will be using at least 100 pounds of gingerbread cookie dough, 20 pounds of gum paste, 30 pounds of royal icing, and staff will putting in at least 100 hours making it.
- The house itself will have 5 fully decorated rooms as well as a stairway. It will be close to 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide. It will actually be slightly smaller than the last house I did but that is so I can spend more time on extra details for the rooms.
