Philippine Airlines (PAL) has cut fares by more than 30% on inbound flights from Tokyo to Manila or Cebu, to help repatriate Filipinos. The price of a one-way ticket from Tokyo’s Narita airport to both destinations has been reduced to about US$335 from approximately US$500. PAL Chairman & CEO, Lucio Tan ordered the discounts be offered to Filipinos facing mandatory evacuation by the Japanese government. The airline said the reduced fares are just enough to cover the cost of operating the flights.
