Parkdean, which operates 24 parks across the UK, has been awarded the Investors in People Gold Standard Award – a leading accreditation programme for business improvement through people management. It is the first year Parkdean has entered the programme.
The win sees Parkdean, which employs 663 permanent staff and 1,678 seasonal employees join the top 7% of accredited organisations across the UK.
The award comes hot on the heels of the holiday operator’s recent employee engagement survey results, which saw more than 95% of its employees classed as ‘engaged’ – a 13% increase on its 2014 results.
Parkdean Holidays chief executive John Waterworth said: “Our people are at the core of the company so it is crucial we continue to help them realise their true potential – whatever their role or area of focus within the business and the company’s recent employee engagement survey results are testament to this.”
Parkdean is also continuing to recruit young people across the UK with its ‘Aspire’ apprenticeship programme, which is now in its third year, taking on 44 new recruits this autumn seeing its number of ‘live’ placements increase to 78, park-wide.
