Passengers refuse to let ‘drunk’ pilot fly

Passengers on a Russian Aeroflot flight havedemanded that an apparently drunk pilot be taken off the plane, according to areport in The Age. The pilot was due to fly from Moscow to New York on 28December, but passengers reportedly become alarmed when he slurred hispre-flight announcement.
“The first thought that occurred to me was,’This guy is drunk’,” passenger Khatuna Kobiashvili told The Moscow Times. “Hisspeech was so slurred it was hard to tell what language he was speaking.”
Alarmed passengers pleaded with cabin crew,and eventually over 100 of them signed a statement saying they believed thepilot was drunk, The Moscow Times reported.
