Rosewood Hotel Group has unveiled plans to launch its Pentahotels brand in the Chinese city of Ningbo.
The company has been appointed to manage the Pentahotel Ningbo – a new-build property which is set to open its doors in 2017.
Forming part of a mixed-use complex in the Ningbo National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, in eastern China’s Zheijang province, the new property will feature 222 rooms, a 300m² gym, four function rooms and the brand’s signature ‘pentalounge’ concept, which combines a lobby and reception area with a bar and café.
“We thank our partner Ningbo Grand Investment Company Limited for the opportunity to bring Pentahotels into this energetic city and become part of its increasingly dynamic lifestyle,” said Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group. “Pentahotel will certainly become a Ningbo home base for independent-minded travellers to the city and a hub for local residents to chill out.”
Pentahotel Ningbo becomes the brand’s fourth Chinese project, following developments in Shenyang, Guiyang and Luohe. These form part of Rosewood’s overall aim of expanding the global Pentahotels portfolio to 80 hotels by 2020.
Currently there are Pentahotels in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
