Peppers adds NZ golf resort
Peppers has expanded its portfolio in New Zealand with the addition of The Carrington Resort – a major golf complex in the Northland region of the country, four hours’ drive north of Auckland.
To be known as Peppers Carrington Resort, the property is set in the middle of the Carrington Farms Estate – a 12km² area of farmland, wetlands, vineyards and beaches. It is also home to a 6,417-metre, 18-hole championship golf course.
The Carrington Resort offers 10 lodge rooms and 14 three-bedroom villas, with views of the ocean, golf course or vineyard. The two-storey villas offer wood burning fireplaces, verandas and kitchens. Resort facilities include a restaurant, bar, a library, two tennis courts, heated swimming pool and gym. The estate also includes an Olympic standard skeet shooting range and purpose-built conference facilities seating up to 100 people.
“It is an exciting time for Peppers in New Zealand – our portfolio is continuing to expand with superb quality product and a resort like The Carrington is a welcome addition to carry the Peppers name,” said Bob East, CEO of the Mantra Group, which operates the Peppers brand.
Chairman of Carrington Resort Ltd, Paul Kelly said the alignment with Peppers would build its reputation as a premier golfing resort.
“Aligning ourselves with a quality brand like Peppers and the extensive distribution network behind it will lift the Carrington’s profile that much further in both the New Zealand and Australian market and I look forward to this next phase in our development,” said Kelly.
The Carrington will be the third New Zealand addition to the Peppers network in 2012, with the Peppers Parehua Martinborough and Peppers Awaroa Lodge having joined the portfolio earlier this year.
