The B777-300ER aircraft will be launched on the route on 26 October, offering 370 seats – 42 in business class and 328 in economy. This marks a capacity increase of 46% compared to the 254-seat Airbus A340 that currently operates the route.
The B777 will also feature seatback in-flight entertainment, Wi-Fi, power sockets and USB ports.
PAL serves the Manila-New York JFK route with a stop in Vancouver in both directions.
“Using the B777 to the US mainland enables us to achieve our goal of operating our long-haul flights efficiently and economically. With this shift, passengers on the route will experience PAL’s trademark Filipino service in the comfort of the modern B777,” said PAL’s president & chief operating officer, Jaime J. Bautista.
