Phuket to be Air Asia hub

Air Asia plans to use Phuket as a hub for connecting flights to tourist destinations in this region. Using the 180-seater Airbus 320, it will connect Phuket with Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Jakarta and Medan in Indonesia, Hong Kong and Chiang Mai starting this November. Besides, Air Asia also plans to expand service from Bangkok to Mumbai, Clark Air Base which is about 65 kilometres northwest of Manila, Mandalay in Burma and Luang Prabang in Laos.
