Air Philippines is to be revived to offer “serious competition to Cebu Pacific” in the domestic Philippines market, the Manila Times reported an unnamed Philippine Airlines (PAL) official as saying. The carrier, which is owned by the Lucio Tan Group, which also owns PAL, temporary stopped flying to many of its destinations to undergo a fleet renewal programme. However the report quoted the official as saying that Air Philippines will resume services this year from Manila to Iloilo, Bacolod, Puerto Princesa and Cagayan de Oro. Two of the six Airbus A320s ordered by Air Philippines are scheduled for delivery this month, with the remaining aircraft scheduled to arrive between September and December, the report added.
