Plateno Hotels Group has signed an agreement to launch its luxury Portofino hotel brand in Sri Lanka.
The Ranna 212 Beach Resort in Tangalle, on Sri Lanka’s south coast, will be rebranded as the Portofino Resort Tangalle in September 2015.
The resort offers 34 rooms and 21 suites, plus an outdoor swimming pool and a selection of restaurants and bars overlooking the Indian Ocean.
The move forms part of Plateno’s plans to expand in South and Southeast Asia. The company has already signed one hotel in Sri Lanka, ZMAX, which is scheduled to open in Colombo in 2017.
The Portofino brand is Plateno’s collection of luxury hotels, resorts and serviced apartments.
