P&O Cruises and Cunard have thanked travel agents for putting the cruise lines ahead of bookings this wave period compared to last year.
P&O Cruises has seen a 52% increase in bookings during the last month, while Cunard has seen sales increase 54%.
P&O’s figures are the best it has seen in a wave campaign despite only being less than a month into the nine-week period, with Cunard’s 7% higher than its previous best wave promotion in 2008.
Bookings this weekend have been strong for its Select Fares and Early Saver Fares ahead of price increases on Sunday (19 January).
“This has been our strongest ever wave campaign and we haven’t even finished yet. It’s an incredible achievement and, quite simply, we could not have achieved this without the support of our agent and trade partners,” said Chris Truscott, sales and distribution support director at the cruise lines.
“We’ve made numerous changes as a result of agent feedback. Everything from pricing, commission, commission on packaged flights, brochure development and itineraries – and these figures are testament of our ever-growing relationship with the trade,” he added.
