P&O Cruises has announced that its 3,100-passenger vessel, the P&O Ventura, is to undergo a refit at the end of this month. The work will include the installation of single cabins – a feature which will be rolled out across virtually the entire fleet.
The ship, which launched in 2007, will have be modernised to meet the facilities currently seen on P&O’s latest ship, the Azura.
The changes include an outdoor spa, Oli Smith Wine Bar and Atul Kochhar Indonesian restaurant.
Additionally the company will be adding 18 single cabins to the vessel – 12 with ocean view and six inside – something the P&O has said it will be installing on five of its seven ships.
“More and more people are travelling by themselves, which is a product of our guests getting older but remaining adventurous,” said P&O managing director Carol Marlow. “Installing single cabins gives single travellers as much choice as anyone else,”
The Ventura and Azura will both have inside and outside singles while the Oriana will have only inside and Aurora only outside.
