Holidaymakers will be able to explore the colourful coastline of Western Australia by sea or sail further north to visit the exotic islands of Indonesia as part of P&O Cruises’ new program of 2011 cruises from Fremantle.
Now on sale, the season runs from July to October 2011 and features ten voyages on the popular Pacific Sun. Early booking savings of up to 45 per cent mean that fares start from just $459* per person quad share for a three-night sampler cruise.
For those looking for an experience of a lifetime, Pacific Sun will sail on two 16-night Flower of Asia cruises visiting the fascinating Indonesian ports of Semarang, Lombok, Bali and the island of Komodo, home to the huge monitor lizards known as Komodo dragons.
Fares start at $1689* per person quad share for the cruises, which will also call at the Australian territory of Christmas Island with its rich flora and fauna, and cruise to the site of the HMAS Sydney as well as the remarkable cliff faces of Australia’s most westerly point, Steep Point.
Also on offer is a shorter 12-night Indonesian Adventure visiting Geraldton and Broome before sailing to Lombok, Bali and Komodo.
Australians who want to explore more of their own coastline will also enjoy Pacific Sun’s eight-night WA coastal voyages visiting the far-flung towns of Geraldton, Broome and Exmouth. Departing Fremantle on September 30 and October 8 next year, prices start from $1109* per person quad share.
The new program also features two three-night cruises - the ideal short break and a great way for first-time passengers to experience cruising. Themes include a food and wine cruise and a comedy cruise, with prices from $459* per person quad share.
Pacific Sun’s WA deployment has also created a host of coastal cruise options, starting with a 17-night exploration of northern Australia departing Sydney July 25, 2011. Priced from $1789* per person quad share, the cruise includes scenic cruising through the waters of The Kimberley as well as an overnight stay in Broome.
For those keen to experience Australia’s southern coastline, Pacific Sun is offering a nine-night voyage from Fremantle to Sydney, which is also available as three shorter cruises. Prices start from $259* per person quad share for a two-night cruise from Adelaide to Melbourne.
Launching the new 2011 program, Carnival Australia Senior Vice President Jenny Lourey said Fremantle made an ideal starting point to explore a host of fascinating destinations.
“The 2011 Pacific Sun program builds on P&O Cruises’ inaugural 2009-10 season. Not only will next year’s season be longer, it will include 50 per cent more calls to Australian ports, as well as some great Asian itineraries and visits to Christmas Island, so we believe it will be very popular,” Ms Lourey said.
The 47,000-tonne ship features a child-free Oasis spa retreat, an oceanview gym and coffee bar, as well as five restaurants and cafes, multiple bars and lounges and two pools.
