P&O Cruises is to change its advertising policy, adding a call to action for travel agents, the company has revealed.
The Carnival UK firm is to add the message to future TV and print advertising for its Mediterranean and Caribbean cruise programmes, which will have campaigns running in September.
The Med campaign is due to launch on 1 September
Speaking to Cruise News, the former head of sales for P&O Chris Truscott, who has been promoted to sales and distribution support director, said: “As a direct response to the Agent Matters programme we will be featuring a call to action to book via a travel agent or on our website.
“I hope this goes someway to demonstrating our commitment to travel agents and our response to the feedback we’ve had. I’ve got a real desire to partner with travel agents and develop both our businesses,” he explained.
I’ve got a real desire to partner with travel agents.
“We only closed the questionnaire on Friday so this is a quick response. We had a phenomenal feedback rate, which I’m really pleased with – and I’ve got some work to do to draw out the key themes and develop initiatives – but I wanted to show our commitment to the trade.”
Commenting on the announcement, Cruise News contributor and founder of Cruise 118 James Cole said: “As D:Ream (with physicist Professor Brian Cox on keyboard) once sang ‘Things can only get better’ for P&O and Cunard. The news is all positive coming from Carnival UK head office at the moment and long may it continue. Not rocket science though was it!”
Yesterday (22 August) we reported on the company’s 2015 world cruise announcement which will go on sale on 5 September 2013.
