Poor demand for pandas in Taipei

Taipei Zoo has admitted that tickets sales generated by a pair of giant pandas had been mediocre, laying the blame of the global economic downturn, Taiwan News has reported. Zoo spokesperson, Chin Shih-chien was reported saying that the zoo sold over TW$130 million (US$4 million) in entrance tickets last year. The pandas, Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan, had been expected to boost visitor numbers.
