QAIA charts 3.5 m pax for H1 2014

Airport International Group (AIG), operators of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has released traffic statistics for first half (H1) 2014.
During the period between January and June 2014, year-to-date (YTD) statistics for passenger traffic (PAX) surged by 12.94% and aircraft movement (ACM) rose by 8.59%, registering at 3,576,262 pax and 36,049 ACM. The month of June brought the first half of 2014 to a positive conclusion by welcoming 687,804 passengers and 6,573 aircraft, which is represented by a 10.47% and 9.19% increase respectively, in comparison to the same month last year.
“We are pleased to have recorded such strong traffic growth during H1, and while majority of airport’s routes have shown increased activity during this period, top contributors comprised the GCC, Sharm El Sheikh, Iraq, Tripoli and London,” said Kjeld Binger, AIG CEO.
