Qantas and JAL ‘to launch low-cost carrier’

Australian carrier Qantas and Japan Airlines are rumoured to be in advanced talks about launching a low-cost domestic airline in Japan.According to a report in The Australian newspaper, the new airline is expected to fly to Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.While neither airline would confirm the story, a Qantas spokesperson said the airline eyeing new business opportunities across Asia, but that “no agreements have been reached with any parties”.
