Qantas has cancelled 28 flights in Australia due to tomorrow’s Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) strike. Several flights to and from Sydney to Melbourne have been affected, as well as those between Sydney and Brisbane.
A further 27 services will suffer delays of up to 35 minutes, meaning that more than 6,100 passengers will be affected by the industrial action.
The airline said it has been able to significantly reduce the impact of the strike by using larger wide-body aircraft on certain routes and deploying management to act in operational roles. It added however, that there could be further delays over the next two days as a result of the knock-on effect from the strikes and the TWU’s 48-hourban on working higher duties.
