Qantas flights have returned to normal today (Tuesday 1 November), with all flights operating on schedule.
The majority of Qantas’ stranded international passengers were accommodated on services yesterday afternoon and overnight, while the domestic passenger backlog was cleared by early Monday afternoon.
Qantas operated 65 international flights and 139 domestic flights yesterday. It’s low-cost subsidiary Jetstar also added seven domestic flights yesterday to help ease the backlog.
The move follows the grounding of all Qantas flights from Saturday afternoon, as the airline announced a “lock-out” of striking employees. The Australian government has since intervened in the dispute, arranging further mediated negotiations.
