Qantas opens new Changi lounge
Qantas today (11 April 2013) unveiled its new lounge at Singapore’s Changi airport.
The new facility forms part of the Australian carrier’s renewed drive into the Asian market, following the re-routing of its European services through Dubai. Catering for premium passengers on Qantas’ new dedicated Singapore services, the new Changi lounge features 460 seats, has 20 showers, 80-inch television screens and technology pods. There is also a dining area with a live cooking station, a bar, showers and even mattresses and duvets for passengers wanting to sleep. Top tier Qantas frequent flyers will also be offered services such as shirt pressing and shoe shining.
“This multi-million dollar investment is part of our broader commitment to improve the experience we offer on services to and from Asia, including our A330 upgrades to begin next year,” said Simon Hickey CEO of Qantas International.
“It also complements our new Asia schedule, which promotes Singapore as a hub for the region. We now offer more dedicated capacity, better frequencies and improved connections from Singapore to other destinations across Asia.”
