QPM recently announced a collaboration agreement with the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT). The company has expressed strong determination of capturing a share of the region’s infrastructure and project development – including UAE, GCC and other strategic markets. The agreement looks into turnkey solution for investors in tourism-based projects in Morocco.
The agreement between QPM and SMIT was formally signed at Cityscape Global 2013. Ahmad Al Abdulla, chairman of QPM and Imad Barrakad, chairman of SMIT, signed the agreement in the presence of other officials from both companies.
Under terms of the agreement, SMIT & QPM will provide development management, tourist investment advisory, project management, construction management and consultancy services on tourism-related projects.
“We had our sights set on becoming a major regional player in the field of project management and development,” said Ahmad Al Abdulla, chairman of QPM. “In recent years, after having established offices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Egypt, our services have also been engaged in several key projects in Yemen, Egypt, Sudan and Libya.”
Elaborating further Imad Barrakad, chairman of SMIT said: “Today, Morocco is striving to make tourism one of its main engines for the country’s economic development and SMIT has risen as an initiator of innovative projects and a major player in the engineering and tourism development fields that is able to ensure investors support throughout projects life cycles,” he added.
QPM’s latest partnership with SMIT effectively brings together SMIT’s local knowledge and familiarity, innovative programs and key role in the engineering and tourism development sectors of Morocco, and QPM’s expertise in providing world-class quality project management that would surely result only in positive synergies towards all projects that both firms will be working together.
