The Rajasthan government will promote the destination through social networking sites like Facebook and YouTube to attract tourists.
The government has earmarked about INR 50 lakh for development and marketing pages on social networking websites to popularize the tourist destinations, an official of the state tourism department told the Zee News.
The project titled ‘Social Media Optimisation for the Development of Rajasthan Tourism’ will market the state’s rich cultural heritage, palaces and forts, the official added. “Social media networking has made communication across borders very fast. To capitalise on this power, we will popularize the state’s tourism spots through social networking websites,” the official said.
