Red Funnel Isle of Wight Ferries has unveiled its new look Red Osprey ferry, which returns to service this week following a major £2.2m interior refurbishment.
The vessel now mirrors her sister ship, the Red Falcon, which was refitted in March 2014.
Kevin George, chief executive of Red Funnel, said: “We are delighted to have undertaken further significant investment work, following very positive feedback from customers who have travelled on Red Falcon. The company carried record numbers in 2014 as more customers than ever chose Red Funnel over its rivals. The refurbishment of Red Osprey further underpins our commitment to providing the best possible travel experience for cross-Solent travellers as we work with partners and stakeholders to help grow the Isle of Wight’s economy.”
The Red Osprey’s refit has seen the addition of new and improved facilities, including two new passenger lounges offering panoramic views across the Solent, new sundecks, lift access from the main car decks, 35 LED screens providing travel information, and free high-capacity Wi-Fi.
